In this Week 30 episode, we focus on a turning point for ship recycling markets. India drives activity with major LNG sales and strong yard deliveries. Pakistan continues to secure tonnage, maintaining top pricing for dry bulk. Bangladesh remains quiet, facing ongoing HKC compliance delays and limited demand. Turkey shows no change in arrivals or pricing sentiment.

This week’s highlights include:

  • India: Two Moss-type LNGs sold en bloc for over USD 640/LDT. Alang received over 107,000 LDT across 11 vessels, signaling improved buyer confidence.

  • Pakistan: Bulk carriers fixed with onboard bunkers, giving buyers added value. Local steel remains strong at USD 615, while the Rupee sees slight gains.

  • Bangladesh: Regulatory bottlenecks stall new arrivals. Cutting permissions remain delayed, and recycled steel sales are sluggish.

  • Turkey: The Lira drops to TRY 40.56. Despite easing interest rates, no new vessels arrive at Aliaga.

We also examine steel price movements, currency trends, and the pace of HKC adoption as we approach Q3 close.
