GMS, located in historic downtown Cumberland, Maryland (USA) is a privately owned U.S. corporation established in 1992. The company was founded by Dr. Anil Sharma, with the primary focus to buy MARAD (U.S. Maritime) ships. Since then, the company’s growth has been explosive and has grown from one employee to a well-established 30-member organization with several exclusive representatives worldwide and over the last four years, negotiated well in excess of 100 vessels each year. Total vessels negotiated in fifteen years stands in excess of 850!

Ours has been a professional history of enduring struggle and explosive triumph. Testament to our success is a track record which today is second to none. Between 1999-2003, the company grew at its fastest and became one of the "largest" CASH BUYERS of ships for recycling in the world, at one time having a market share of more than 80% of the recycling market in India.
