The Lila Building houses the GMS office in the United States. The building was constructed around 1872 and until 1998 it had never been anything but a bank. Today it is named the Lila Building located on the corner of Baltimore and Centre Streets, in historic downtown Cumberland, Maryland.
GMS bought the building in 1998 as part of Anil Sharma’s vision to promote the city as a business and professional center as well as a tourist attraction. The building has been completely remodeled with a variety of office suites and spaces available. The building features a large United States flag and also there are flags of all of the countries with which GMS does business in the shipping industry.

Perfectly and strategically located on the 1st floor in Saba 1 Tower at the center of Jumeirah Lake Towers, a busy commercial area and opposite the Dubai Marina, overlooking the famous Sheikh Zayed Road, the GMS (Dubai) office is now the corporate headquarters of all GMS activities. Dubai being the commercial hub of the U.A.E. and an important destination facilitating movement of people and goods to and from all over the world, GMS has set its base here since 2009.
Apart from cash buying of ships for recycling, GMS (Dubai) deals with repair and management, conversion projects, resale of vessels for trading, financing, owning and investments in the booming real-estate markets of the UAE.
